Gifts and Donations Policy

The Anderson-Lee Library gratefully accepts items offered as gifts or donations; however, the library reserves the right to determine whether the item will be placed in the collection, offered to another library or archival collection, sold in the Friends of the Anderson-Lee Library’s ongoing book sale, or discarded.

The library only accepts new or gently used items as donations. Books in poor condition, including torn, tattered, musty, moldy, and/or books with yellowing or brittle pages, or books with writing in them, cannot be accepted. In addition, outdated informational texts and incomplete reference sets are not accepted.

In the case of memorial gifts, library staff will assist the donor in selection of materials that are both suitable for the collection and as a memorial or honor to a special person.
